The Ciociaro Social Club of Massachusetts is proud to announce their Italian classes for Children from ages 4 to 12.
Located at 144 Bridge Street in Newton, classes meet every Saturday starting from the second Saturday of September through the last Saturday of May. The first semester runs from September to mid-January. The second semester runs from mid-January through May.
Classes are held from 12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. on Saturdays.
The classes are taught by two experienced bilingual Italian teachers:
Rebecca Paxton Cianfrone has been teaching Italian since 2004 to various ages, from adults and high schoolers to elementary schoolers and young children. She graduated Skidmore College with a B.A. in Italian Language and Culture and UMass Amherst with a M.A.T. (Masters of Arts in Teaching) Italian. She opened Piccola Italia Preschool located in Newton in 2012, where she utilizes an emergent curriculum, teaching in Italian. She is also involved with the activities of the Boston Bambino Club and EditGB (Educazione Italiana Greater Boston), currently teaching after school classes for bilingual children. Ms. Paxton Cianfrone adores all things Italian and loves to spread her great excitement and enthusiasm for the language and culture to her students! She currently teaches the older class at the Ciociaro Social Club on Saturdays.
Mariangela Marchio has been teaching Italian language lessons in both group and individual settings since 2009. A native Italian speaker, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in foreign languages from the University of Bologna, Italy, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe. She has several years of experience in customer service and retail management, informing her approach to language learning as client-centered. She hopes to instill her love and passion for Italy in all her students. Ms. Marchio currently resides in Canton, MA with her husband, who is a career educator, and her three children. She currently teaches the younger class at the Ciociaro Social Club on Saturdays.
Classes are open to members of the Ciociaro Social Club and the general public. Ciociaro Social Club members receive a 50% discount towards the Italian class tuition.
The Ciociaro Social Club Family Membership is $75 per year.
Class tuition per semester is $65 for members and $130 for non-members.
Registration is ongoing throughout the year. Registration after the semester starts will be prorated. You may register in person at the Ciociaro Social Club at 144 Bridge Street in Newton during class time.
